In 1994, I went to Ashford to get my first tattoo. It's on my left shoulder. I designed it myself - it's loosely based on a knot found in the Lindisfarne Gospels, which makes it Anglo-Hibernian rather than Celtic ;-p It doesn't really mean anything, other than 'this body is mine, to do with as I see fit.'
Guy drew this in 1989, when he was 18. When he died last November, it struck me as the perfect thing to have done as a tat. So on 29th February, 2008, I got it done!

The artist was Keith Goodwin, from Blaze Tattoos, Northgate, Canterbury.
And no, actually, it didn't hurt a huge amount, except for a bit at the top where it was over my shoulder-bone. After a while, you get used to it.
